Unlocking the Key to Creating Lasting Habits!
Hey Team,
Today's blog is all about inspiring you to power through with your New Year's resolutions! Don't Give Up!! Whether you're aiming for personal growth, health, or trying something new, let's reignite that motivation with this simple tip and make this year genuinely exceptional!
In both life and our fitness journeys, I've come to realize that the most minor actions can lead to significant transformations. Often, my mind tends to overstate the amount of effort needed to tackle a task, making it feel far more daunting than it truly is. This mental exaggeration can create a sense of overwhelm that discourages me from taking that first step. However, the most surprising revelation I've had is that once I muster the courage to begin, the reality of the situation rarely matches the initial apprehension I felt. The hardest part of any endeavor seems to be getting started. Once I push past that hurdle, I often discover that the task is not as difficult as I had imagined, and I can make meaningful progress with each small action I take.
Show Up and Touch The Wall!
"Touching the wall" is an innovative strategy in our Premier Personal Training program. Our fitness program is specifically designed for individuals over 40 who wish to establish sustainable habits and achieve their fitness goals.
The approach encourages participants to focus on achievable actions rather than striving for perfection. By committing to minimal effort that promotes consistency, we effectively reduce the barriers to taking action. This method is intended to make it so easy to get started and create a positive habit that the chances of failure diminish significantly.
What does "touching the wall" look like in real life?
Fitness: Too busy for a workout? Show up and commit to 5 minutes on the treadmill. Just 5 minutes. You can always do more, but consistency is key.
Nutrition: Overwhelmed by meal prep? Start by adding one vegetable to your plate. That's it. One step today leads to better habits tomorrow.
Sleep: Struggling to prioritize rest? Why not try mouth-taping before bed (yes, really!)? This small action improves oxygen delivery and sleep quality—one of the easiest ways to boost your health.
Why "Touching the Wall" Works!
Reduces Resistance: It's so easy, there's no excuse not to do it.
Builds Momentum: Small wins lead to significant results.
Keeps You Consistent: The real magic of habit-building is showing up every day.
What Our PPT Members Say about this Small Change in Mindset
"Starting small changed everything for me. I began with just five squats daily, and now I'm stronger than before."
"Touching the wall helped me stop quitting on myself. I show up, even on tough days."
Take a moment to reflect on your goals and identify one tangible "wall" you can physically engage with today. This could be as simple as putting on your workout shoes, stepping outside for a short walk, or even organizing a small area of your home. Focus on the smallest possible action that you can genuinely commit to and take that step. Then, make it a point to repeat this action tomorrow. Remember, even the tiniest steps can accumulate over time and lead to significant achievements.
"Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out." – Robert Collier.
